I know some of us are struggling with being disconnected from others. We are being told that we cannot gather in large groups, we are missing being able to hug others and we are really struggling with the transition from being in everyone’s bubble to no ones bubble even coming within distance of us. We don’t have to use this time to be sad and frustrated. We can use this time to create creative ways to interact and enjoy one another. Here are a few ideas of ways to have a fun time connecting.
-Have a Zoom/Teams dance party! Have one person get the jams going and everyone enjoy and dance along. It would be a fun way to show off your new dance moves but also be able to see your friends and have fun.
-Have a Zoom/Teams craft night. You can gather with your friends online and everyone create crafts together. These could be anything from paintings, to jewelry, to tie dye t-shirts.
-Have a socially distant movie night. Everyone can gather on Facetime/Zoom/ Teams and watch the same movie together. Streaming services are putting out new movies regularly. Grab some popcorn, your computer, phone or tablet and enjoy a movie with friends.
-A silent dance party. Call your friends on the phone, put your headphones on and play some good music. The best thing about this is you can dance all you want and no one can hear the music except the people on the call! So dance around your living room, dance around your younger sibling, and maybe others will join in on the fun.
-Use Zoom/Facetime to bake a fun dessert with your friend. Maybe you all can create the same recipe, decorate cookies or even let your friend read you the recipe without you having a copy of it!
-Do something kind for someone else. Sidewalk chalk your friends driveway, make a cute sign and put it on your friend’s mailbox or just send a letter.
