To the Seniors of 2020. If I can offer you one piece of advice it would be to be kind to yourself and be kind to others. I know the year did not end up as you had imagined. The year started out with a bang with thoughts of college, the future, and what you hoped for your life after Heritage. You maneuvered throughout the year with jubilee events, holidays, winning sports seasons, and the support of friendships. Relationships have changed, relationships have grown, and you have endured. You have had time to enjoy, rejoice, and celebrate one another and make it to this point. This is the point where you take a deep breath, look into your heart, and find appreciation for yourself, your hard work, and your dedication to your life and studies. You have made it to this point and surpassed every expectation that has been set for you and that you have set for yourself. With the absence of events and memories, you have continued to persevere. You have remained positive and continued to uphold your positive attitudes and been such incredible role models for all the younger students. You truly embody what it is to be a Heritage Hawk.
As you take this next step in your life, remember that what you have experienced prior to this is what is going to set you off in your adventure. Utilize your strengths, acknowledge your weaknesses, and remember that you are in control of your actions and behaviors. You have the ability to make and shape your life to be incredibly spectacular; it’s your time to do it. Find peace within your daily life, take time for yourself, and remember 2020. Remember how you were able to shift, adapt, and remember how you remained focused when everything around you became chaotic. You are your guiding light. You are a guiding class because of your grace and adaptation. Remember your core values, remember your grit and most of all remember your kindness. Thank you for being who you are. Thank you for being pillars to this school and most importantly thank you for being leaders of this community.
