The Heritage School’s Lower School Curriculum is a blend of traditional and innovative practices. Our integrated curriculum encompasses a balance of academic, experiential, and extracurricular activities that challenge students to excel.
Through the use of the Makerspace, students learn to collaborate and problem solve. Independent reading is promoted through various reading events every year. A monthly assembly allows students a chance to perform, present, and become comfortable with public speaking as well as learning to be a good audience member. Community service is woven throughout the year with monthly donations to the local food pantry and participation in a “Stop and Serve” day alongside the entire School.
Jubilee is the culminating activity that brings the School together in spirit. Our students work together across the four grade levels of the Lower School to build team spirit, collaboration, communication, and a sense of community. This event involves competitive activities that reach far beyond the average school field day. Teams are chosen early and activities occur throughout the year to build leadership for the fourth grade students and camaraderie for all.
