Lower School includes First through Fourth Grades and is experiential, stimulating, and inviting. Here, students will be immersed in specific time periods in our country's history by grade level, bringing history to life as they role-play historical personas and enjoy memorable field trips. Your child will have classes in French, Spanish, Computer, Library, Choral and Instrumental Music, and Art, taught by professionals in each field. Students will build their confidence, engage in daily Physical Education, and develop a sense of citizenship, compassion, and social responsibility.
Our days in Lower School are focused on building a firm foundation in each area of the curriculum. Our job is to not only hone your child’s academic skills, but to enhance that natural love of learning that all children possess as they enter formal education. Our monthly assembly affords all students a mini-public speaking experience that will serve them well as they mature. Shared events like our Back to School celebration, Farewell to Summer Day, Halloween Carnival hosted by the Upper School, special holiday events, the Super Bowl of Reading, reading to each other in different grade levels, field trips to venues that will enhance the classroom instruction, and just learning and playing together will give children a sense of community and make Heritage their place.
